What does this say about human nature?
At work we have this software called "Clientele" that only a certain number of people can use at the same time. We use it to keep track of the projects we're working on. Maybe 100 people at our company use it, but most of them only use it a for maybe an hour or two per day. The problem is, if they're logged in it takes take up one of the spots, even if they're not actively using the program.
It used to be, we had 45 licenses and it was almost constantly maxed-out all day. So any time you wanted to use it, you had to wait until someone else got out and you'd have to take their spot right away.
This went on for a few weeks and it sucked complete ass. Finally, a couple weeks ago, the company decided to buy more licenses and added 20 to the limit of simultaneous users.
Since then, I have seen 45 or more users in the same time (45, as you recall, being the previous limit) exactly zero times.
